SendXa runs in the browser, so it does not care which device is which.

Once both sides are in a session, either of them can put files in. Sending something back does not need a second session. Files are not the only thing: a piece of text, a link or an image sitting in your clipboard goes across the same way, and lands right back in the other side's clipboard.

Your files are not stored on our server

The server holds file names and sizes, enough for the other side to see what is waiting. The data starts moving when they hit download, and it is never written to the server's disk. When the session closes there is no copy of your file anywhere in the system.

When both networks allow it, the two browsers connect straight to each other and the file does not pass through our server at all. When a file needs more than a promise, zip it with a password first and pass the password along some other way.

No account, and nothing about you to keep

There is nothing to sign up for and no email address to hand over. What protects a session is the session itself.

• The connection is encrypted with HTTPS.
• Every session gets its own 8-character code.
• Five wrong codes lock that device out, and twenty across a session close it.
• A share link carries its own token after the hash, which browsers never send to any server along the way.
• No ads, and no third-party tracking on the page.

Use it as often as you like

No limit on sessions, no limit on how often you send, no daily quota. Up to 32.0 GB per file and up to 500 files in one session.

One condition in return: the page on the SENDING device has to stay open until the other side finishes. A file only leaves your device at the moment they hit download, so closing that tab ends the transfer. If the other machine is not online yet, press the cloud button on the file row first: the file sits on our disk, the other side fetches that copy on its own once it cannot reach you, and you can close the page whenever you like.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send files from my phone to a computer?

Yes, and the other way round. SendXa runs in the browser, so iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux can all send and receive without installing anything.

How large can a file be?

Up to 32.0 GB per file, with no limit on how often you send. Files are never stored on our server, so file size has nothing to do with our disk space.

Do I need an account?

No. No account, no email, nothing to install. Open the page and start sending.

Can I send a piece of text or a link?

Yes. Copy the text, then hit Copy text on the page, or just press Ctrl+V. One tap on the receiving device puts it into their clipboard, with no file to save. An image in your clipboard works the same way.

Can the person receiving send something back?

Yes. Once both sides are in a session, either of them can add files or text to it, with no need to open a second session and read out another set of numbers. Every row shows who put it there.

What if I reload or close the page by accident?

Reopen it and you are back in the same session, with no ID or code to type again. The browser holds them for that tab alone. Close the tab for good and they go.

Are my files stored on your server?

Not on the normal route. The server only keeps file names and sizes while the session is open; the data streams from sender to receiver and is never written to disk. The one exception is the 24-hour route, which you have to pick deliberately.

Does the recipient have to install anything?

No. They open sendxa.app and enter the 8-character code, or just click the link you sent.

Can I send a whole folder?

Yes. Drag a whole folder onto the page and the tree comes across intact, so the receiving side sees the same structure inside. Up to 6 levels deep and 500 files per send.

Can I lock a file with my own password?

SendXa does not do that. The page used to carry a Lock with my own password option; it was removed on 25 August 2026 because it only worked on files under 100 MB. Zip the file with a password using 7-Zip, WinRAR or Compress on macOS, send the archive, and pass the password along some other way. No size limit.

What if the other machine is not online?

Pick the route that leaves the files for 24 hours and gives you a link. It differs from the other two in that the files are written to our disk and anyone with the link can download them; in exchange you can close the page whenever you like. They delete themselves after 24 hours, up to 500 MB per file.
